Medieval music sheets are some of the most recognizable manuscripts that survive today: notice the square notes and coloured initials, which alternated between red and blue across pages. These particular sheets include the hymns Dies Sanctificatus (“Day Made Holy”) and Tolle Puerum et Matrem Eius (“Raise Up the Boy and His Mother”) as well as several psalms. The manuscript was produced sometime during the fifteenth century and was written in well-formed textualis, but we cannot be certain where it was written.
